Jesus and Justice Conference for Conflict Free Society

When we talk about peace and human security, both depend on the situations where justice prevails and a conflict-free society. No matter what form of conflict is there, it contributes to the denial of justice. It contributes to the denial of the dignity and rights of people and communities. And this can even lead to consequences of violent conflicts. That is why churches and ecumenical councils must contribute to their witness in the protection of individuals and communities. They work with others to build peaceful societies. Jesus and justice conference is all about building peaceful societies.

Justice is involved and included in every form of concern related to social, economic, political, and ecological. Considering that human security is multi-dimensional, it is justice that has an impact on these securities.

As far as peace seeking and making are concerned, there are Churches working for this mission aiming at peacebuilding and peace theology. It helps people and communities to have a way of life that extends beyond traditional concepts of churches’ preaching and teaching on peace and reconciliation. More people, communities, and churches are actively participating in the reconciliation mission. They proceed with the mission in their local contexts, considering a large part of their faith and witness.

There must be an arrangement of adequately equipped systematic engagement of learning and training. The need of the hour is to identify and train potential and prospective leaders in peace making and building to successfully undertake and implement the peacebuilding mission.

Unquestionably, we can witness that the concept of knowledge about peacebuilding is growing. But if there is any lack of clarity about what makes peacebuilding in a local context effective, it needs to be addressed. Peace talks can help people and communities, focusing on training to engage representatives from other faiths.
